The responsibility of the Fiscal Officer is to oversee the operation of the Fiscal Office. The main function of the office is to manage the finances of the Township. This includes paying the bills, accounting for all financial transactions, following all the rules and regulations for appropriating and purchasing good and services as need by the Township.
The Fiscal Office is also responsible for keeping past and current records of the Township that include but are not limited to an accurate record of the Trustees' meetings, employee records, contracts, emails and much more.

The current Fiscal Officer is:
Dr. Mark Gerber - Mark was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. After receiving a B.S. in mathematics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, he moved to Columbus and earned M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in nuclear engineering from The Ohio State University. In 1979, Mark founded a financial analysis and electricity market price forecasting firm, M.S. Gerber & Associates, Inc. He served as the company's CEO and CFO until he sold the company in 2004 to an international firm and retired in 2006. He and his wife, Carole, have lived in Liberty Township since 1995. They have two grown daughters, Paige and Jess, and two grandchildren.
Mark brings 30 years of business, financial and computer experience to the Liberty Township Fiscal Officer position. He is pleased to serve the residents and pledges to see that the township's money goes where it is treated best.
